CurrentBody Skin LED Mask Series 2 holds first at 9.4 and my LED mask ranking carries forward. Last week I set out what a new launch has to show me. This week the brand at the top of my list delivered the most significant one of the season, the CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Mask Series 3.
The spec jump is large. Series 2 uses 236 LEDs across three wavelengths, red at 633nm, near infrared at 830nm and deep near infrared at 1072nm, with 30 mW/cmΒ² of output. Series 3 moves to 750 LEDs, and each one can emit six wavelengths, adding blue at 415nm for breakouts, green at 532nm for tone and yellow at 590nm for redness. Output rises to up to 40 mW/cmΒ². Session length stays at 10 minutes, three to five times a week.
The feature I find most interesting is MyDose. In the CurrentBody app you choose which wavelength each LED emits, and the system calculates your dose. Someone with redness on the cheeks and breakouts on the chin can treat both in one session. That is a genuine first for home LED.
It stays off my list today for one reason. My scores rest on clinical data and weeks of wear, and Series 2 has both. Series 3 arrives with CurrentBody's research program behind it, and I want independent results and my own month of use before I score it. It is also sold on Amazon already, so October's Prime window may bring the first discount.
Meanwhile my ranking holds. Series 2 at 9.4 remains the proven anti ageing mask. Omnilux Contour Face at 9.2 is the pick for medical grade credentials. Shark CryoGlow at 9.2 adds under eye cooling, and Shark Beauty is expanding its LED range to the body this month.
Series 2 holds first
CurrentBody Series 2 keeps 9.4 on clinical data and a flexible fit that holds every LED at a constant distance.
Series 3 lands with 750 LEDs
Six wavelengths per LED and up to 40 mW/cmΒ², three times the diode count of Series 2.
MyDose maps your face
Choose which wavelength each LED emits, so redness and breakouts can be treated in one 10 minute session.
Scoring after real use
I will rank Series 3 once independent results and a month of wear are in.
