Oral-B iO Series 10 holds first at 9.3 and my electric toothbrush ranking carries forward. The launch everyone is asking me about this week is the Dyson CameraJet, and my advice for now is to watch it and wait.
Here is what it is. A $499.99 set that combines a brush, a water flosser and a 100,000 pixel macro camera in one handle. The camera streams to the MyDyson app, doubles as a dental endoscope, and targets interdental gaps so the flosser fires where food actually sits. It is the most ambitious oral care device of the year, and seeing your own gum line while you brush is genuinely useful for anyone with bridges, crowding or recession.
Two facts keep it off my list today. Consumer Reports published a first look on 10 September and plans full lab testing once a replacement unit arrives, and Dyson says it is isolating a small number of early batches with a component issue. I score brushes on months of use, and that data does not exist yet.
The second fact is running cost, which connects to last week's head math. CameraJet refills cost $29.99 for two, so roughly $15 a head. Change every three months and that is about $60 a year, or $300 across five years, before the non foaming toothpaste and rinse the system asks for.
So my picks stand. The iO Series 10 leads on pressure feedback and app coaching that works reliably from day one. Sonicare 9900 Prestige at 9.1 is the flagship for sonic fans, and the Sonicare 4100 at 9.0 remains the brush I recommend to most people, because it cleans superbly at an entry level price. When CameraJet completes independent testing, I will score it properly.

Heads at about $15 each
CameraJet refills run $29.99 for two, which works out to roughly $300 over five years on a three month schedule.
Sonicare 4100 for most people
At 9.0 it delivers a superb sonic clean with a timer and pressure sensor at an entry level price.
